Nurses are on the job in
Guilford County School’s Child Care Centers that opened for children of Guilford County’s health care workers
Guilford County School’s feeding sites making sure safe practices and procedures are followed
Guilford County Pubic Health buildings monitoring and assessing clients and staff for signs of the virus
Assisting Communicable Disease program with contact tracing of and investigation of individuals with Covid – 19
And even in the midst of an epidemic, our nurses continue to provide:
Case management for children with chronic illness, checking on health status while they learn at home
Follow – up to check status of referrals made before children left school for eyeglasses and other needs critical to learning madePlans for return to school making sure school records are up to date, immunizations status is known and in compliance, plans for chronic illness are in place with current care plans
School Nurses are Public Health Nurses. We needed them before, we need them even more now!
